An oak longcase with 10" square brass dial with silvered chapter ring. Original steel hands. Engraved centre and C&W type 33 spandrels. 30 hour rope-driven, plated movement.

The later, craftsman-made, oak case with fixed wooden columns with wooden capitals and removable caddy top (2" deep). Forward-sliding hood with opening front door.

William Taylor of Petworth is a recorded clock and watchmaker of 1784-90[1].
