Hooded Wall Clock by Thomas Gullven

A hooded wall clock circa 1720 with 8 inch square brass dial signed "Thos. Guluan Horsmonden" to the foliate-scroll engraved centre within an applied silvered Roman numeral chapter ring with cruciform half-hour markers and mask and scroll cast spandrels to angles. The 30-hour posted countwheel bell-striking movement with anchor escapement. Interesting copper-faced pendulum bob.
The clock in a shallow-arch pedimented case with foliate pierced fret above. Integral columns to hood with shaped apron and side sections to the bracket beneath.
Thomas Gullven, a clockmaker of Horsmonden, Kent, recorded as circa 1720.
