George Goulde longcase clock

A George III mahogany longcase with 11" square brass dial and 30-hour birdcage movement. The solid mahogany case standing 79" high, the hood with period glass. The case is solid and a dark mahogany with a good patina and some very fine mouldings. Turned hood columns with plain brass capitals attached to the door. The dial has steel hands and fine engraving of a country scene to the centre with calendar below. Original chain drive, old weight and period pendulum.

George Goulde of South Molton is a recorded watchmaker of 1784-1795[1].
