Small Timepiece Alarm

A small timepiece alarm with cowtail pendulum and miniature verge fusee spring-driven movement with ornate turned pillars, thought to originate from the Austrian-German border region.

The brass case containing a small, plated, chain fusee-powered going train with crown wheel verge escapement. Spring-driven alarm striking on an underslung bell. Applied pewter chapter ring engraved with Roman numerals and Arabic 5 minutes. Brass engraved alarm disc and steel hands. Complete with brass key.

The clock standing only 5" high and 2 3/4" wide by 2 1/2" deep (4" wide at base), 3" diameter chapter ring of 3/4" width.
